CGHS is subordinate Organisation of Directorate General of Health
Services, New Delhi.
CGHS started in Mumbai in the year 1963.
Allopathic Dispensaries - 26
Polyclinics - 2
Ayurvedic Dispensaries - 2
Homoeopathic Dispensaries - 3
Dental Unit - 1
Beneficiaries :
Central Government servants / Pensioners /High Court Judges / M.P.s / Freedom Fighters.
2. Medical facilities are provided by Dispensaries/Polyclinics.
Administrative works are being done in Administrative office.

Dispensary : CMO Incharge & staff
Admn. Office : Head of office, other officers & staff.
4. Compendium prescribed by Ministry.
Main function – Medical Care & treatment.
5. CGHS Rules framed for functions of Organization. Instructions being issued by Government
from time to time for discharge of the function.
6. CGHS Cards issued to Govt. servants by various offices.
Pensioners’ card are maintained by concerned dispensary.
Routine records maintained by Administrative Office.
7. Policy of CGHS formulated by DGHS / MHFW.
8. Deals with its beneficiaries relating to health.
Advisory Committees are formed in dispensary.
Meeting held at regular intervals & Grievances are Redressed.
Minutes are open to beneficiaries.
9. Records pertaining to employees’ are available in office.
10. Salary drawn by office.
Details of Payments of officers / staff available with office.
Medical Reimbursed Claim reimbursed as per rules.
11. Budget provided by DGHS on yearly basis.
Expenditure details maintained by this office.
Plan proposals are suggested & sent to DGHS for approval.
12. No subsidy progammes.
Nominal contribution are made by beneficiaries.
MRC reimbursed as per CGHS rules.
13. CGHS has Recognized private hospitals and the rates for OPD & hospitalization have been
prescribed.
